Q: Hello 5i. Is there a difference between what US producers are receiving and what Canadian producers are receiving for natural gas. I watch BNN and I think on the top right hand side they state a natural gas price but I think this is for US producers not Canadian producers. Which if true, is misleading I think. Where would you recommend that I look for the daily price of natural gas for Canadian gas producers. .

This site is likely best for current pricing, though is slightly delayed. Canadian producer prices will vary by type of gas (sweet, sour) and transportation capacity. Many producers will also buy/sell derivatives to stablize their contract prices. But generall, prices will be lower than the US, which has greater takeaway (LNG) capacity.
