Q: Hi 5i,

Like others here, really like what you do, and have found your work more valuable than that of other groups I follow/subscribe to.

Over the years I have learned that the management of a company is one of the most important factors in making a successful investment. I would very much appreciate a one liner (or addition to the "Report Card" section of reports) which would speak to how effective/honest/reliable/capable the management team is.

You often address this in the question section, which is valuable for non-reported companies, but seeing it embedded in the reports would be great.

Q: comment only a lot of concern about surge most clients of this site are investors not traders syg operates in three diff basins has a excellent hedge plan and a out standing mang team with lots of skin in the game don't be a leming and jump off of the cliff with the traders

Q: Team,

E or MCR, which falling knife do you prefer standing behind? I own small positions in both as part of a basket of small caps, but they are both back under my 1% threshold where I either have to add to the position, or cut it loose. I'm thinking of selling one, and topping up on the other. thoughts?

Q: Hello 5i Team

Back on August 12 you mentioned AVO had too much cash on hand which was impacting per share results. You also commented an acquisition would go along way towards providing some positive news to turn around the emotional slide which began with the executive resignation in May.

Is Mr. Hernandez still sitting on a considerable amount of cash? Has his strategy for the company changed in the past quarter or do you think an acquisition is still on the horizon?

Q: this is a bit of an unusual question and I am putting you on the spot but the markets have been crushed the last few weeks, so peter is you went on bnn market call today what would be your top 3 picks.i keep looking at avo but cannot pull the trigger something going on there we do not know, but you must have 3 others you like, a surge or something. dave

Q: The following have shown little change in the current correction. Is this the type of correction wherein the sellers will get around to worrying about these stocks/sectors, or does it look principally oriented to the energy sectors. Thanks

Q: This is an interesting post, which I thought might help explain what's happening with Avigilon. I don't have an opinion one way or the other as I don't know enough about hedge funds and shorting practices, but it does seem intriguing, and might be of interest to those members who know more about this than I do.

Q: No news & yet stock has dropped some 25% since 9/30 to $14.04(down 11% today)Imperial Capital started coverage on Oct 3 with outperform rating & a $25 target price.Pat Horan recommend it on BNN on 9/29.Is there some negative news on the next Q leaked????There has to be a reason besides the current market drop.In my humble opinion,the co has to release some positive news on the next Q's revenue & profit sooner than later to stop the bleeding.Does AVO provide a site for investor opinion--if so, please provide.Thanks a lot

Q: Since the tumble from $18 for AVO volume has been 2X average except for Monday when it was 4X. It certainly seems someone knows something negative here, or thinks they do, and sellers are gaining the strong hand. Could you provide a current short position on the stock, and do you have any comment on the Point and Figure chart target of $9? Thanks, J.

Q: Hi,
Could you expand on your answer regarding your thoughts on the oil commodity backdrop. Charts are suggesting longer term high US $, a long US Stock cycle & a long down period for commodities. Meaning stocks like SGY, even though good on fundimentals might suffer from being in an "out of favor" sector & therefor have little upside. So your insight into how long you thing oil might be on a down cycle.
