Q: Greetings! You mentioned that Badger has about half of its revenue coming from the energy sector, currently. How much of it do you think would be E&P related, as opposed to pipeline maintenance, etc? I'm trying to get a handle on whether the shares should be tracking oil prices as closely as they have been. Cheers.

Q: Peter and company,
Badger Daylighting went down today to $23.44. Is this still a company you would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Q: BAD has had a big jump today but I can't find any news on it. I assume it reported last night or today. Your comments are appreciated!

Q: Hi Peter & 5i Team,
In your answer to Paul on Oct 28 regarding energy stocks, you wrote
"... we think you could silo them into (light, heavy, tar), (Nat Gas), (service/drillers)... We think you could cover all of the areas with 6 names ".
Could you please recommend your favourite 6 energy sector names for a GROWTH investor for the above 3 silos.
Thanks in advance
Francis

Q: This is more a general question that a company specific one. Tax loss selling has been mentioned a lot recently and while I know what it is,I don't know how (if?) I can it to my advantage, as I have only had registered money up until now.
From the conversations, it would appear that we should expect a lot of selling around stocks that have fallen quite a bit - AVO, BDI, BAD to name a few. I am down on these stocks too but I am committed to hanging on for several months yet. But is there a value in selling them to realize a loss and buy them back in 31 days as there is little likelihood they will rise in that short time or is that too much like gambling on market timing?
Also, it seems that this activity occurs in the late fall. Why? You can claim the loss at any point in the year so why does it seem to concentrate then?
Finally, if all this selling is expected to occur, is there a way to take advantage of it?
Thanks for the education. If this is not the correct forum to answer this, perhaps you could direct me to where I could learn about this "phenomenon'.

Q: I haveno health care exposure and was thinking of adding Pfizer and Gilead Science to the US side of my portfolio.what are your thoughts on this? Also I bought BAD, ACQ and LNR when they were very high recently and am down about 30 percent in them. Would this be an opportunity to double down or do I just wait them out? It was bad timing on my part and am wondering if there is a way I can fix my mistake.
Q: I currently hold Badger and AutoCanada and continue to watch them decline on a daily basis. I was up quite significantly in both stocks at one time. Should I continue to hold them or take my profits now? Thanks for all that you do!
Q: Badger daylighting has dropped fairly significantly over the past few months and yet as you continue to mention the essentials remain positive. At 28 dollars, would this not be a great opportunity for a long term buy?
Q: Hi: BAD: is it a buy, sell or hold at present. What do you think of its future say 6 months down the road.

Q: Peter et al,
I bought 100 shares of Badger a while ago at $36. It is now sitting around $30, partly because a couple of gurus stated on BNN that it would go down to approx $20. I wonder if this is a time to buy more or should I just sit tight for a while and see where it goes. Thanks in advance for your good advice.

Q: Have taken a position in BAD this morning on weakness with hopes of a bounce. How does the street feel about this stock presently. At this price is it being quietly accumulated or is it a tax loss seller for 2014?
Q: can you comment on BAD. Badger lighting on the TSX. Is it a buy?
Q: Hello Peter,
Can you provide any elaboration on the Q2 Badger comment below?
From Badger Q2 Report regarding forward looking statements:
“...An increase in Company capital will be required to finance the anticipated capital expenditure program”
As I see it, any increase in number of shares particularly before year end, would be a significant drag on the share price. Your thoughts on the need for more capital and its short term affect would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

Q: Hi,
You mentioned that you were digesting the #s on BAD in a few of your Q&As & gave the impression you would comment after that on guidance ie; buy/sell/hold etc. Where on the site would this be posted & when?
Thx

Q: Just to clarify, David's question to you on BAD is correct! O'Connell on BNN commented on Badger's (just reported) earnings the evening of August 11th (Monday evening). Sedar and other sources including the TSX released the results this morning, Wednesday. I realize your not a regulator, nor a shareholder but how could this occur? Very disturbing for me as a shareholder but I'll still continue to hold for growth. Thanks for your great service.
Q: Regarding Mr. O'Connell's comment on Badger, he said that he looked at Badger's results on Monday morning!
Q: A comment on Badger BAD. On Market Call Tonight on Monday evening Aug 11, John O'Connell of Davis Rea responded to a question on Badger by saying "I had a quick peek at their earnings when they came out this morning...." then proceeded to say revenues were up but margins were down etc., basically describing the results that were released this morning.(The video is available on the BNN.CA web site.) What do you make of this? Is it possible Badger gave Mr. O'Connell an early look at their results?
Q: Peter and Team,
Badger Daylighting is getting smashed today following its earnings report but too me the market reaction seems way overblown. The only bad thing I can see in there is that margins decreased but it was for, what seems to me, good reason in the US and for something that seems out of the company's control in Canada.
Your thoughts on what to do with the stock from here? Forgetting the dividend, I was up about 18% or so and am now down 1% on it in a day. My tendancy is to continue to hold as I like this company and idea long term but maybe I'm too stuborn?

Q: Hi,
Could we have your assessment of Badger's numbers this morning. The market is not impressed, but would you see the reaction as overdone or appropriate. What are your thoughts as a holding going forward.
Thanks

Q: BAD
Please comment on Badger. It is down nearly $6.
Last week a guest on BNN said that the earnings were not
good.
