Q: Re your appearance on BNN on 7/29,my lady investing friend & I were elated to see you still looking good & sharp as ever after your accident. Was unsuccessful to get on the show to thank you for your great site & ask a question as many people ahead. Txs for your advise to buy SJ before release of results. It was up $1.88. In my humble opinion,Alex,CEO of AVO is a strong reason for a bigger drop of price after the latest 2 q results due to his personality & poor conference call.He did not generate cofidence & evasive @ times. He is very driven & maybe he is going to make an acquistion soon.As a copmarison,Paul Colbourne of SGY is very open & generates confidence besides his continuos buying in the market. Thanks a lot

Q: I was reading some information about Avigilon (AVO) a few days ago. Apparently, Veritas suggests some issues that could affect AVO are channel stuffing (something to do with collaboration between AVO and its channel intermediaries) and early revenue recognition. Veritas also was concerned about uncommon auditor review practices. As a consequence to its review they are suggesting caution. It seems to me that these are probably consequences of a fast growing company rather than something I should be particularly concerned about; however, the frequency I get burnt by trusting my instincts is too high so wished to get your valued opinion. Thank you

Q: In Avigilon’s (AVO) recent annual meeting circular, they are proposing an amendment to the corporation’s by-laws which would indemnify the Directors and officers in the event of any criminal or civil proceedings against them. Normally I wouldn’t give this a second thought, but in consideration of the recent abrupt (and mysterious) departure of the CFO it causes me concern. I am far from a conspiracy theorist, but it leaves the impression that something shady might be going on, hence the CFO departure the day before the release of quarterly results, and now a move to better insulate the officers from any liability. I’ve read all the Q and A as well as the AVO report that you just updated and it is clear that the recent CFO departure doesn’t seem to concern you, but what if anything do you read into the company’s move (and the timing of it) to amend their by-laws to better protect the Officers?
