Q: I need some consumer discretionary for my RRIF. I want to minimize market surprises so I've chosen these two. Both have great dividend history and OK 5 year CAGR. The RIF is not my primary source of income but I do find dividends to be a help when getting over rough patches. Which would you choose for a long term hold. Or perhaps both? Any other choices? Thank You

If just one, we would lean to the much larger and more globally-diversified ATD. But we would be fine owning both. ATD is smaller, cheaper and has a higher yield, so would help both income and diversification within the sector.
