We would not suggest it; while it is possible, the bond market for individuals is not that liquid, and many brokers carry limited inventory. To get full duration diversification many bonds would be needed. XBAL owns nine other ETFs, each with its own diversity. Considering XBAL fees of 0.20%, we do not think it would be worthwhile.
