Q: Why would PRL increase their dividend if they knew they would not meet their profit estimate ?

Companies consider long term prospects and cash flow for their dividend strategy rather than 'estimates'. PRL had a record quarter and adjusted net income still rose 16%. There is also the theory that a dividend increase dulls the pain for shareholders of the 'miss'.
