Q: Hello ,
Are the US banks still a good buy or are the PEs getting too high? I was thinking of an etf or JPM? Any thoughts please. Also, what is causing the renewables to surge as the etf is perking up.. Much appreciate it.

5i Research Answer:

The banks are of course tied to the economy, but lower interest rates should help the sector. JPM is at 15X earnings. High on the historical scale, but the last quarter was solid, the dividend was raised last week, estimates have been rising, losses are under control and rates are moving lower. All of these are factors and we would remain comfortable buying.
