Q: I am looking for a broad US ETF that is hedged so that if the Cdn dollar goes up vs the USD, I do not lose out. Also, when they are hedged, does it work both ways? ie whether the dollar goes up or down vs the USD. Are there more costs to this type of ETF?
Thanks

We would suggest XSP. There are costs to hedging, but MER here is only 0.09%. The hedge is on Canadian dollars vs US$. If the US dollar is strong, a hedged product will not see the benefit from the US dollar strength.
