Q: I have held Mawer 102 for many years and would appreciate your thoughts on this fund and if you would suggest something International that may do better this the fund. Thank you as always. Barbara

The fund has a three-star rating from Morningstar, and MER of 1.39%. Neither are great. Since inception return is +7.6%. The sector has been tough, and international stocks in general have struggled for some time. This may be starting to change soon. We think VIU as an ETF would likely work better. Like MAW102, it is international but ex-North America. Fees are only 0.22%, and if we look at 3-year performance VIU is +4.54% and the fund is +0.2%. VIU also has outperformed over five years by about 1.5 percentage points.
