Q: FID5973 has spun off an ETF version FINN.
Compare owning FINN to QQQ/QQQM and FINN to a basket of stocks held within the ETF - What do you prefer for long term investor wants.

5i Research Answer:

FINN invests in 'disruptive innovators' and has $107M in assets. Performance has been good so far, up 16% in three months. Its holdings are very common tech names, with a few less common names, such as VRT (which we like a lot), and SNOW. Cameco CCO is also in the top ten, and we are not really sure of its disruptive qualities. Versus QQQ, it is similar in terms of sector exposure, though tech is about 65% vs 80% for QQQ. Median market cap is $105B, vs $259B for QQQ. FINN's three month perfomance beats both other ETFs by 6 percentage points. Fees are much higher at 0.85% vs 0.20%. It is a bit earlier for a full comparison, but so far FINN looks decent. We would prefer QQQ for now and would like to see if FINN's outperformance is sustainable.
