Q: I going to initiate a sizable position in VTI.US and VUS.T, what would you consider a good entry point and a great entry point. And would it make sense to leg in over a six month period? Thanks for your expertise.

Considering market volatility, it is never a bad idea to leg into a position over time, making volatility your friend rather than the enemy. Markets have resumed their concern on interest rates, and we may see a bouncy fourth quarter. For VTI, a good entry would be $205 and great below $200. VUS, $74, $70. Note with a dollar cost average approach we would pay less attention to price and simply deploy an equal amount each month.
