Q: Regarding your answer to Peter, call me cynical but this company inexplicably began a steady decline a month ago, followed by a steep decline yesterday before the public announcement of the bought deal. It looks to my suspicious mind like some people had inside information and acted on that knowledge.

5i Research Answer:

In any bought deal many executives and brokers are aware of the potential corporate activity, and a leak is one possibility. But insider and broker activity is monitored. But of course it could be other things: concern over the rise in yields, profit-taking after big gains, or fund repositioning. It is impossible to know. There has not been any significant insider trading reported.
