Q: I held this stock and then got nervous about losses, or potential losses and sold it during a choppy period at $48.35 and now it's $62.94. I wouldn't mind making another investment in US Technology stocks, so should I go back to RHT or look for something else?
I guess I need to build up my fortitude for those choppy periods!

Q: US listed Co.: last quarter was terrific, fundamentals look good-poor dividend though. Taken a bit of a hit in sympathy with lower oil-huge back log of orders. I do not own any rails -so, was thinking of buying this one in my USD portfolio. Comments please.

Q: Hi Peter and 5i crew, my diversification is lacking the Healthcare sector and I was wondering if you could provide me with a couple of stocks that I could purchase now for at least a 5 year hold, and as usual thanks for a great service and I am grateful to be a small part of your membership.

Q: Hello 5i team.

I have read that your favourite US dividend ETF is VIG. I own the TSX listed version (VGG) in my RRSP. Although, there is no withholding tax on dividends in an RRSP, there seem to be some erosion from taxes within VGG itself. Can you recommend a US dividend etf that is efficient to hold within an RRSP?

I note that the total return of VIG has been less than VV. Is this compensated for by lower volatility?

Thanks,
Hans

Q: Hi Team,

I'm looking for a single etf or low cost mutual fund to diversify my tfsa portfolio which currently holds only Canadian equities.

A fund that caught my eye was prpfx which is supposedly modeled on the "permanent portfolio". What are your thoughts on this fund.

Are there other products that contain fixed income and international equity which you would suggest I consider? Do you have a favorite?

Thank you very much for all of your helpful answers.

Q: Great job you are doing. Could you please tell me about this ETF, other than low volume could you give me your recommendation for a 2 year or more hold in a RSP. It would be a 3-4% holding with another US ETF, XSP, at about 5%. Do you have any other choices and why. Thanks

Q: Hello 5i,
I’m not happy with Canadian Oil Sands (cos) and Ensco PLC (ESV) in my portfolio and would like to sell for less volatile names. On the Canadian side I’m looking at buying Vermilion Energy (VET) or Pembina Pipeline (PPL) or possibly Enerplus Corp (ERF). On the US side Kinder Morgan (KMI) or China Petroleum & Chemical (SNP) or Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.B.

What do you think of this move and which ones are your favorites.

Thanks,

Q: Hi Guys
What would be your determining factors on deciding at what price to enter a stock like this. What stands out as being most impressive. It looks to be a good free cash flow generator
over 10 years, EPS 10yr average around 20%. Forward P/E at 35x seems high. Would the stable earnings over a 10 year period justify the valuations. Looking forward to your opinion.

Thanks Gord

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

what are your thoughts on Payment data systems? i know its a small market cap, however, their growth and the cash and cash equivalents of 60M vs their market cap of 19M makes no sense to me. am i missing something?
