Q: Good morning,

Presently in my portfolio I do not carry any tele-communication stocks. I am looking at a long term hold with good dividend. The one that I am looking at right now is CJR.B.
For 5% weighing in my portfolio what do you think? Would have other suggestion in the same market.

Thank You.

Paul

Q: I have most of my portfolio in cash and equities. I don't understand bonds very well and I'd like your recommendation on a long term bond for a RRSP.

Thanks

Q: Hello Peter,
Since the article in the Globe about Nuvo Research, the stock has surged. Is there other news you are aware of that is moving the stock higher? Also, Concordia's numbers were excellent even though they missed the estimate. Is this the reason why the stock is flat since the earnings and in general when companies continue to increase their revenues and Earnings but miss estimates, is this a bad sign for a stock as i thought the analyst estimates was just one factor in buying and selling not the complete reason for owning or selling the stock. Thanks for your advice.

Q: Good morning Peter and Team,

With my understanding that you prefer DHX over Corus CJR.B, would you still consider Corus a "hold" or, since DHX has dropped recently, would you recommend a switch to DHX.B at this time? My wife's RRSP has one position of Corus in an otherwise diversified portfolio. Or is "media" not a good place to be right now?

Thanks in advance for your timely advice.

Q: Your thoughts, please, on debentures trading at or below par. CUS, ENT, EIF, AHF, JE, LRE, RMM to name a few. Anything you like for straight yield? Debentures you've recommended previously all trade above par making them more equity-like than fixed-income like.

Q: Nice move upwards today.
I need to sell some shares in my RRSP to pay tax bills and I had this one earmarked for the chop. Now I'm wondering if I should hold on for a bit.
The trouble is that whenever I hang on for a further rise after an encouraging increase, the price seems to fall to where it was before.
Was there any news in particular that sparked the rise?

Q: Hi Team, re above, I am impressed with David Burrows and Diane Avidgor. When I look at their fees and performance bonus in the private pool structure, I get cold feet. Any comments as I have done well with your guidance.

Q: Hello,
I am wanting to add another stock to my TFSA, which contains SGY, DSG & ADW.A. Each stock is close to 25% of TFSA but only about 2.5% of total portfolio.
I am considering adding ITP, Winpak WPK, or CCL Industries CCL.B.
Questions:
1. I like all of ITP metrics except for the Forward PE (19.5) which is higher than the Trailing PE (9.8). Should I be reading anything into this?
2. Which company would be your preference for continued earnings growth & growing dividend with 5 yr plus outlook.

Q: Hello,
I am planning on adding these companies to my diversified Canadian portfolio as 4% positions each. I am striving for some US exposure--sj, fsz, some growth--phm, and some stability--kbl. Would you please comment on my choices. Is this a good time for each of these? Any more appropriate stocks at this time? Thx Kate

Q: It appears hrx blew the quarter right out of the ball park. I know you should not fall in love with your stocks but I find management does everything right here and that we are in a bull market for military and commercial aircraft replacements. Agree? I am thinking of making hrx a 5 percent weighing even though there is no dividend.
