Q: Are there any ETFs that are traded in CDN $ but consist of blue chip US companies like the aristocrats?
Q: Looking for an ETF that is only invested in the US blue chip stocks like their Aristocrat stocks and pays a dividend, is there such a thing and obviously one that has been performing consistently

Q: Re: XEG
Hi Peter:
I bought some XEG for my TFSA at around $ 18 about 18 months ago
I am under water
I think the seasonal trade for energy sector to go up is around the summer, so I am hanging on before selling it to move
to some dividend stocks like BCE, IPL.
When does the normal seasonal trend for the oil and gas stock
normally peaks ? Thanks

Q: ZWU - I have it for 1.5 year and it is not doing well. I would like to switch it to another ETF. Could you please recommend a couple ETFs for me.
Currently, I have ZUB and XRE. Thanks again for your great service.

Q: Given the low valuations in Europe and large multinational companies, is there an opportunity to build a position for the long term
Q: Re: ZWB-T
Hi Peter and Crew,
Thanks you for the great answer on the BMO ZEB-T (equal weight Canadian Banks) vs. purchasing 20% each of the big 5.
As a followup question, can you highlight some advantages or potential risks of the BMO Covered Call Canadian Banks fund (ZWB-T). From my analysis, the CC strategy does produce a higher yield. Tempting, but the one year total performance appear to be very similar. What "gotcha's may be out there ?
Thanks for a great service !

Q: I am a new member and a long time fan of Peter Hodson and Canadian MoneySaver.
Question: Since bond returns are so poor and now there is a risk of losing capital too, what is an investor to do? I don't feel comfortable being 100% in equity even if it is well diversified and dividend producing. Any ideas?

Q: None of my accounts have any exposure to U.S. equites. Could you please recommend an ETF or two to fill that void.
Thanks again
Thanks again
Q: I am considering buying VCR Vanguard Consumer Discretionary. Would you consider this as a good choice going forward. Bill
Q: Hi Peter and others,
I am thinking of adding some banks to my portfolio. Do you see an advantage (and would advise) a fund approach (example: the BMO offering of ZEB-T (equal weight Canadian Banks) vs. a purchase of the same amount divided up at 20% each of the 5 major banks. I am looking for both income and growth (a greed thing I guess - tee hee).
Thanks for your answer and thanks for the great "and especially unbiased" service

Q: Both Pref Share etf's and High Yield Bond etf's dropped in price a lot in the last month with expectations of interest rate rises; but the High Yield Bond etf's have recovered nicely in the last week, while Pref share etf's are still down. Is there a reason for the High Yield Bonds significantly outperforming Prefs recently? What do you see going forward?
Q: Having reasonably balanced portfolios in my regular and RRIF accounts would VCE be an appropriate holding for a TFSA?
Thanks Guys

Q: Peter, I want an investment for about 4 years in an RESP-like fund where capital preservation is important. Is there a particular preference share etf you like, and as far as stocks go would you expect K-Bro to be low volatility? Thanks, Bill
Q: I would appreciate your opinion on EPP (iShares MSCI Pacific ex-Japan Index ETF) for international exposure. EFA and VEA were mentioned in a previous response. Do you think these are preferable to EPP? Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter, Have you any suggestions as to how I could get some
exposure to biotech or life sciences through the TSX and an ETF.
I am aware of the XHC and ZUH. May be a growth area over the next five years.
