Q: I am looking to invest in some gold juniors. What are your thoughts on Scottie Resources. Are there any other junior gold companies that you like?

Thanks as always!

5i Research Answer:

SCOT is a developer, so has no revenue, earnings or cash flow yet. Cash is about $5M, and 12-month cash flow was negative $6M. Market cap is $134M after the stock nearly doubled in the past year. Insiders own 6%. Ocean Partners owns 13.5%. SCOT's focus is gold and silver exploration in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, a prolific mining district. The company holds about 58,500 hectares of claims, including its flagship 100%-owned Scottie Gold Mine property spanning 8,534 hectares with over 30 mineralized zones. The Scottie Gold Mine includes the past-producing high-grade Scottie Mine and adjacent Blueberry Contact Zone, hosting an inferred resource of 703,000 ounces of gold at 6.1 g/t. Other assets encompass the Georgia Project with the former Georgia River Mine, plus Cambria, Sulu, and Tide North properties, all aimed at expanding mineralization around historic mines. The stock has potential, especially if the sector continues to rock. However, it needs to be considered highly speculative and performance is going to depend on drilling and reserve news in the medium term. We would suggest ARIS, a midcap, instead.
