Q: As a snowbird I am looking for an investment vehicle with high income paid in USD and have identified these two. I can handle some risk and a degree of leverage but it is not required. Are these two appropriate ; which would you recommend ; are there others I should look at ? Is their unit price quoted in CDN or US dollars ?
Thanks. Derek.

Any Canadian security with '.u' is traded in US dollars.

For a covered call fund, we like HYLD.U. It is multi-sector and has performed very well (3-year 24.07%). We like its set up and holdings.

HHIS.U is quite different in that it invests in highly volatile single security ETFs. This enhances income but can be very volatile. It does not use leverage, though. It does not really have a long enough history to gauge its quality. We would prefer HYLD.U and be comfortable with it.
