SPDR EURO Stoxx 50 ETF (FEZ)

First Trust STOXX European Select Dividend Income Fund (FDD)
Q: Would you consider one of these superior to the other? Are there others that you would prefer?
Thanks.
Thanks.
5i Research Answer:
FDD focuses on European dividend companies. HXX on the 50-largest European companies.
FDD five year annualized is 15.86%; HXX is 16.87% but it is priced in C$ so there is a currency impact there. FDD would still have a slightly better currency adjusted performance over the period. FDD fees are higher (0.59% vs 0.19%), as is its yield (1.91% vs 0%). We would be OK with either, but FEZ (also focusing on the largest companies) is much larger and has had a better long term performance than both (17.18%).
