Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. Class A Limited Voting Shares (BAM)
I notice their price is only $1. Apart, same year high of $90, yet Bam dividend is $3.75 U.s. while Bn is $.36 U.s.
Would Bam be the better choice for a 5 year total return?
Brookfield split into two companies in Dec 2022. We have better acess to returns in US stocks so will provide these returns based on the US stock listings of the two. Dividends are also paid in US dollars. The C$ is down 2.8% in the noted period. From Dec 1, 2022 to today, BAM total return is 28.24%. BN is 17.34%. BAM has a policy of paying out most of its cash flow as dividends. This has helped it over the past three years, but we would continue to view BN as better for long term growth-focused investors. But we would be very happy with either over the long term.
