Q: Is this decent holding for the next 5 years as it is starting to move up? I have held it for 4.5 years and am down 16% but well up on non-taxable distribution. Thanks, James

5i Research Answer:

For an ETF the MER is a bit high at 0.67%, and the five-year performance is not great at 1.83%. But it has picked up the pace recently, with a one-year return of 7.31% and an indicated yield of 12.52% right now. 37% of its assets are invested in the S&P 500. We are comfortable with the rest of the holdings, and it is 96% equities right now. Diversification comes from more than 400 securities owned. With a positive view on markets going forward, we would be OK keeping this today.
