The Weekly Brief (As of July 17)
- Delta Air Lines (DAL) issued positive quarter earnings and provided a better near-term outlook, which beat both top and bottom lines, lifting shares of all U.S. airlines as a group.
- Ford (F) recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to the potential low-pressure fuel pump failure, which could cause an engine stall and increase the risk of crashing.
- Aritzia (ATZ) reported a 33% topline growth to $663.3 million from $500 million in the same quarter last year, driven by strong growth across channels, with a 34% and 30% growth in retail and e-commerce, respectively.
- Mark Zuckerberg said Meta (META) will spend hundreds of billions on computing power to build superintelligence in a pursuit he has chased with a talent war for top AI engineers.
- Nvidia (NVDA) hit news all-time highs along with strong price reaction from other chips companies like Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) as the U.S. lifts restrictions on these companies’ sales to China.

Report Updates
We have posted report updates on CCL Industries Inc. (CCL.B) and TFI International (TFII). CCL.B is a custom manufacturer that provides manufacturing and other value-added outsourcing services to large international consumer product companies, and TFII is a transportation and logistics service provider. One name continues to balance growth of the business and capital returns, while we feel the other provides an attractive setup currently, due to a fair valuation and consistent growth in earnings.
