Flash Report

We have posted a flash report update on 10 of our coverage companies. In the reports, we see underlying themes of expanding margins and increasing topline sales. Certain companies raised their outlook, while others issued more cautious guidance. We downgraded our ratings on a few names based on a limited growth outlook and upgraded our rating in one name. Overall, we feel the report gives investors a glimpse into various industries as well as names that we feel are at a historically low valuation.

Report Update

We have posted a report update on Tricon Residential (TCN). Tricon has transformed into a growth-focused rental housing company, managing approximately 38,000 single-family rental homes in the US Sun Belt. The substantial decrease in its share price in recent years is largely attributed to valuation compression. This report aims to provide insights into the outlook for both the housing market and real estate stocks.

Investor Sentiment Survey - RESULTS!

Thank you to all those who participated in this past market update's Investor Sentiment Survey. We have published the results from the survey in a report in the link below. Please note that the weightings and categorization of these results are still a work in progress, and the model(s) used to analyze the results may change over time as more data comes in.

The investor sentiment score increased from 44/100 in October to 49/100 this month, signaling a 'neutral' stance by investors. More investors have signaled their belief in positive short-term action from the Canadian markets, and the scale has tipped slightly in favour of a bullish outlook on the Canadian markets. But, just under half of investors feel that the market will decline over the next 30 days, and roughly 10% of respondents feel that an all-time high is at least five years away. One thing is for sure, investors have firmly anchored their beliefs that interest rates are staying flat or heading lower over the next 6-12 months, and inflation will be lower one year from now.

Survey Results

We look forward to releasing another round of the Investor Sentiment Survey at the next market update!
