5i Research Weekly Rockets and Duds

This week's 5i Research Rockets 🚀🚀🚀 and Duds 🚫🚫🚫

UnitedHealth Group Inc. UNH 🚫🚫🚫 'Help me doctor, I'm sick and depressed'. 'What's wrong?' 'Well, I bought this supposedly blue-chip solid healthcare company, and it is collapsing'. UnitedHealth, a member of the esteemed group of companies in the Dow Jones Industrial index, fell another 23% last week, continuing its 'annus horribilis'. The stock is down 37% on the year now, wiping out more than $200 billion in company value. Nothing to worry about here, just a minor issue of accusations of medicare fraud.

Super Micro Computer Inc. SMCI 🚀🚀🚀 Accounting issues? Check. Resigning auditors? Check. Attacks from short sellers? Check. Wow, what horrible news this company has had. Maybe I should short it, like others, who have shorted 24% of the company's share float. Oops! The stock rose 44% last week and is now up 47% for the year. Nothing like a $20 billion Saudi Arabia contract that emerged last week with Trump's Middle East visit to get the short sellers crying in their breakfast cereal.

Archer Aviation Inc. ACHR 🚀🚀🚀 Oops, wrong emoji.  ✈️✈️✈️ There, that's better. Archer, developing electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, 'took off' (get it?) last week and the stock rose 51%. What happened? Well, if you have ever been to Los Angeles, you know the horrible traffic situation there. It once took me longer to drive to an LA Kings game than it took for the game to run from start to finish. Now, imagine LA traffic, but DURING THE OLYMPICS. Wouldn't it be nice if you could skip all that traffic, and hop in your own plane that can take off like a helicopter? Apparently, LA OLympic committee members had that thought too, as they selected Archer as the official air taxi provider for the LA2028 Olympics.

Quantum Computing Inc. QUBT 🚀🚀🚀 We can't put out another Rockets and Duds blog without a mention of a quantum computing stock. QUBT rose 50% last week on strong quarterly results and 'strong momentum both operationally and financially'. The stock is still down 28% in 2025, but up 1,473% in the past year. Is it a good buy now? You tell us, based on its revenue in the first quarter. This $1.7 billion company had revenue--wait for it--of $33,000 in the first quarter. That's thousand, not million. Does that valuation, um, seem expensive to you?

CoreWeave Inc. CRWV 🚀🚀🚀 CoreWeave has just given a Master Class on how to get your stock price way higher after your IPO. Step 1: Get Nvidia to invest in your company. Step 2: Use Nvidia chips to offer AI data and infrastructure services. Step 3: Report 420% sales growth in your first quarter as a public company. Step 4: Get Nvidia to increase its ownership position in your company. CoreWeave rose 56% last week on good results and the aforementioned Nvidia news. It has now more than doubled since its $40 March IPO.
